Our annual Penn 5-day trip left with nice load of bait and calm seas. We decided to try the Baja coast to see if we could get a start on our Yellowfin. We managed a few nice fish but we had no current and made for slow fishing. A couple of the guys found some school 10- to 20-lb YFT. So we tried our luck the next day, unfortunately the fish move and the weather came up a notch and we headed to the islands and found small YFT & nice grade Yellowtail; the later it got the better they bit. Spent the night and found more good YT fishing. It was a bumpy ride up and found a few Dorado and Tuna
As always, Steve Carson was an amazing host and Penn Reels piles on the great give aways and lots of fun tackle to play with. Everybody had such a great time, next year’s trip is full. Thanks to you all.Jackpots went to Mike with a 24.8lb. Yellowtail, Kevin “AKA Chester” with a 23.8 Yellowtail and Steve “AKA Whimpy” with a 22.4lb Yellowtail.
